In May 2018 our second year-students organized a learning laboratory in Utrecht, The Netherlands, in order to get together and get some fresh ideas and inputs during their thesis work. The learning lab was built around the theme Safety Culture with invited guest lecturers including Frank Guldemund, Stian Antonsen, Roel van Winsen, and Jean Christophe Le Coze. All presentations sparked discussions and debate and following the event Jean Christophe developed his presentation and the discussions into a journal paper which is now published by Safety Science. It is an informative read on waves of studies of safety culture, different views on safety culture and the development of safety science in general.
